Thank God for the ipoker network. It was only after I found my first online card room that was part of the ipoker network that I found an online card room that convinced me it was time to practice my skills and read up on poker strategy. The poker competition on most of the casinos that are part of ipoker is so weak that I just knew I could turn myself into a regular Amarillo Slim. And, eventually, I did.
You'll read a lot about the pros and cons of card rooms on ipoker--yes, it is the third largest poker network in the world, and yes it is made up of nearly three dozen unique card rooms. But those are not the best qualities of the ipoker network, not by a long shot.
Playing at card rooms based in the US had me convinced that most online poker players were a hundred times more skilled than me. I figured I could never beat such stiff competition, even though from time to time I found soft enough play to win a hand or two.
The casinos on the ipoker network are patronized by a bevy of European pikers more concerned with having a good time than actually winning cash. Even tournament play on the ipoker network is far weaker than the play I was used to at Bodog or any of the other online card rooms that cater to the American market.
If you're just starting out in your online poker career or you're worried about playing against people with greater skill than you, check out Titan Poker or CelebPoker--both popular ipoker network card rooms, both full of players who are practically begging to hand you their money.
